Xmas party
I've not updated the blog for a while! I was quite busy the last couple of weeks. Ben came 2 weekends, we went shopping! All the Xmas presents are now done! I have discovered the suroundings of Bristol: Cheddar, Street, Weston SuperMare, Clevedon...
Last weekend we went to Kuehne+Nagel Xmas party, that was an amazing night! Lots of fun, all drunk... Sunday and even Monday were not so good... big hangover.
I am going home for Christmas! I will be there from the 21st of December until the 2nd of January! I can't wait!
This week, I will go to Gainsborough (a city at the North of England) for 2 days, working on a project for Kuehne+Nagel. Something new, that's great!
Below are the pix of the Xmas party + some pix of my colleagues with really funny glasses! It was the present one of them got from the "Secret Santa"! What is the secret Santa? Everybody of our team had to do a present for someone. Of course, it had to be kept secret. I got a bottle of red wine! mmmm...

Portishead - where I live
Portishead’s history dates back to the Roman times. Its name derives from the ‘port at the head of the river’. The town was built on the mouth of a small tributary; indeed the High Street once met the water at the top of the river. Iron rings, evidence of where the old fishing boats used to moor can still be seen today on the street’s stone walls. The town retains a slightly old-fashioned atmosphere where local traders and shopkeepers know the many faces of their customers.
The dominant architecture is early Victorian with many buildings maintaining their original features. Around 1836 at the height of the iron and steel era, a deep-water dock was built to facilitate the large ships that brought valuable cargoes from across the globe and exported local products overseas. For over 50 years a major coal-fed power station operated alongside the dock. Ships carrying coal were commonplace in Portishead Docks. Industrial activities ceased in the dock with the closure of the Power Station in 1980.
The dock has however been well preserved and is now the centre of a new and exciting marina development attracting interest from all over the country. The new marina will provide over 400 floating berths and approximately 100 dry berths for a range of sailing and leisure craft. I live in this brand new marina complex. The current population of Portishead is approximately 18,000. Due to the new house-building programme in the area, a further 8,000 people are expected to settle in the area over the next few years making Portishead one of the largest towns in North Somerset.

News from Portishead
Well, we lost THE game, everybody knows, nothing to add... Ben was there, we watched it French flags painted on our cheeks! After this shutout, we just chilled out on the Sunday, went for a walk along the marina. That is really nice to be so close to the sea!
Last weekend, we went to Weston-super-Mare! I wanted to see the donkeys on the beach, but no luck... There was the "Weston Beach Race" – the largest off road motorcycle event in the UK. Ben was happy! And I found stickers of Patrick (best friend of Sponge Bob) in the Aquarium! They are now on my window!
Yesterday night, I met my colleagues in the centre of Bristol. That was a great night out going from pub to pub... ;)
At work, everything is fine, I really enjoy myself. We have a great team: 2 German girls, 1 Bristish and me! Next week, 3 more guys are joining our team: a Brazilian, a Polish and a Bristish. Let's see how it goes...
